Blu-Ray High Definition DVD

Recently launched, High Definition is the new standard for television & DVD quality.  Essentially the picture quality of your DVD is much higher, clarity is sharper and colours clearer. There are six main formats offering different levels of quality ranging from 'Better than normal DVD' to virtual cinema quality.

In order for you to view a high definition DVD you will need a compatible TV and a Blu-Ray player. The choice between HD DVD and Blu-Ray is now over as the HD DVD format has been discontinued and all film studios are now moving over to Blu-Ray.  The high definition televisions are already on sale, most commonly in the form of plasma or LCD screen technology. The Blu-Ray DVD players have recently been launched and will become more established during 2008.

At AMD Videography we can already film and edit your wedding in cinema quality high definition referred to as 1080p/25. Known as True High Definition or Full HD, 1080p is the connoisseurs choice.  We shoot on Sony's XDCAM HD system. XDCAM HD is approved for broadcasting and uses 1080p or 1080i.  XDCAM HD is also a superior format to HDV and other consumer brands which use a lower quality version of 1080i or 720p recording technologies.  You can have your wedding DVD filmed in 1080p or 1080i depending on your viewing preferences.

High Definition is currently an optional extra which allows you to 'future-proof' your production for many years to come.  As the technology has becomes established for the home user, we can then supply you with a Blu-Ray format disc.
